Sharing of individual stories over the kitchen table gave birth to A Country Path, a collection of eleven independent, locally owned businesses all sharing the same values and the same farming community. Within a short and convenient driving distance one can explore farms and meet farmers, visit artisans, meet rural industrialists and producers of specialist products. Each visit will afford opportunities for discussion with each individual maker behind the creation of the products in question and guarantee a unique and authentic experience.
Participants include Archibald’s Orchard’s & Estate Winery, Tyrone Mills, Timeless Essentials, Sargent Family Dairy, Buy a Birdhouse, 3Beez.Buzz/Our Valley View Bed & Breakfast, Gallery on the Farm, Makers on Enfield, Open Skies Farm, Knox Pumpkin Farm and Geissberger Farmhouse Cider. Surely something for everyone?
Geissberger Farmhouse Cider has Ontario’s only mobile cider mill. Fourth generation farmers, Jenny and Ian, focus on pumpkins and fun at Knox Pumkin Farm. Garlic lovers head to Open Skies Farm Market to try eight varieties of garlic. Meet Suzanne and Al the woodworker specializing in woodturning and flat work. Introduce yourself to Angus and Highland cattle at Gallery on the Farm, and buy some meat for your freezer. For the birders, you must visit Buy a Birdhouse and check out their custom bird feeders for every occasion. Liquid gold raw unpasteurized honey is available at 3Beez.Buzz which also offers amazing views of the Enniskillen Valley, and you can spend the night if you wish. Sargent’s Family Dairy provides milk, butter and cheese from contented cows in pastures just along the roadside. Crystal of Timeless Essentials creates natural, handmade soap and bath and body products. Tyrone Mills is probably Canada’s oldest water powered grist mill: cider donuts to die for and great pizza. Get to learn more about apples than you ever imagined possible at Archibald Orchards & Winery.
