This July the Capitol Theatre Port Hope presents Steel Magnolias as part of its summer season.
Steel Magnolias centres on the women who frequent Truvy’s in-home beauty parlor, and how they rely on their friendships to get them through life.

Courtney Ch’ng Lancaster directs this classic play, beloved for its themes of family and friendship, with an all-female cast and creative team. Raquel Duffy makes her Capitol Theatre debut as Truvy, with Belinda Corpuz as Anelle, Carolyn Fe as Clairee, and Brenda Robins as Ouiser, with real-life mother-daughter pair Deborah Drakeford as M’Lynn and Charlotte Dennis as Shelby.
Recommended for 14+, contains mature language and themes.
