Northumberland Festival of the Arts CELEBRATING RESILIENCE
> Northumberland County, Ontario, September 15, 2021: The Northumberland Festival of the Arts (NFOTA) will take place from September 16 to October 2, 2022, online and in person.

Coming out of the pandemic, the theme for the 2022 Festival is CELEBRATING RESILIENCE. NFOTA events will be held at various locations across Northumberland County, showcasing multiple art forms.
> The Festival will be “a showcase not just for artists of all types, but will also showcase Cobourg and Northumberland County,” says Cobourg Mayor John Henderson.
> Events will include stage plays, music concerts, art exhibitions, a book fair, book and poetry readings, contests, virtual salons, community collaborative projects and educational opportunities across art disciplines.
> Launched in 2017, NFOTA is the only event of its kind to bring together all art disciplines from across Northumberland County and beyond. The 2019 Festival was opened by the Lt. Governor of Ontario, and featured new plays, poetry readings, visual arts, dance, literature and music.
> Always mindful of diversity, accessibility and inclusion, the 2022 Festival will present an array of local artists – including young talent – and arts organizations.
>   â€œI believe this community is rich in creative talent, and deserves to be better known as the hotbed for the arts that it truly is. A festival will anchor the arts scene here and bring the community closer together around the issues and ideas that excite and engage us.”—musician and radio host David Newland
